About the event
The success of connecting others through "Local Stories" has inspired Bannockburn Arts to create another event series called Community Connect. Community Connect is an opportunity for Bannockburn locals to share their skills with others in a workshop setting. We will be running two Community Connect events this year, the first one; Compost, Cultivate, Cuisine is on May 2nd.
Compost, Cultivate, Cuisine
Designed to connect, this workshop guides participants between three Bannockburn locations, visiting local gardens and learning hands‑on skills from local gardeners at each site.
Firstly, participants will learn about improving their compost and making biochar. This is followed by learning all about seed saving and growing at the Bannockburn Hall (bring your picnic lunch). The day ends with a visit to Gabbi Lynd’s Kitchen Garden to learn about turning produce into delicious cuisine.
Bring your own packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided
Meet at the Bannockburn Hall where you will get the garden directions. Walking between locations in encouraged (driving if required is possible)
Bring suitable clothes and shoes to be outside.
